New Full-Frame Z-series Cameras from Nikon

Tonight, Nikon Inc. has officially announced the Nikon Z 7II and Nikon Z 6II full-frame mirrorless cameras. The high-resolution, high performance Z 7II and the versatile, multimedia-focused Z 6II offer significant upgrades from their predecessors to establish a new standard of performance, quality and versatility for every type of creator, photographer or filmmaker.


Alongside the new cameras, Nikon announced the WR-R11a and WR-R11b wireless transceivers for remote triggering and radio-controlled lighting, in addition to the MB-N11 Power Battery Pack with vertical grip for the Z 6II and Z 7II.


Nikon Z 7II & Z 6II Upgrades:
  • The Z 7II and Z 6II are equipped with two EXPEED 6 image processors to enhance processing speed and increase burst capability for stills
  • Both cameras feature improved low-light AF detection, in-camera exposure choices for up to 900 seconds and dual memory card slots for maximum versatility
  • The Z 6II and Z 7II are the first Nikon cameras to support Eye-Detection AF and Animal-Detection AF with video recording
Nikon Z 7II Highlights:
  • The Ideal camera for capturing highly detailed portraits, landscapes, weddings, events and commercial photography
  • Features a 45.7-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and ISO range from 64-25,600
  • Equipped with a 10 fps continuous shooting speed at full resolution and 3.3x the buffer capacity of the Z 7
  • Boasts 493 on-sensor phase-detect autofocus points to quickly and accurately acquiring subjects, even at far edges
  • Available in December 2020 for an SRP of $2,999.95 (body-only) and $3,599.95 (one-lens kit with NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4)
Nikon Z 6II Highlights:
  • Nikon’s most versatile Z series camera designed for dynamic content creators who need reliable pro-level performance
  • Features a 24.5-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and ISO range from 100-51,200, expandable up to ISO 204,800
  • Equipped with 14 fps continuous shooting speed and 3.5x the buffer capacity of the Z 6
  • Capable of recording 4K UHD video quality with full pixel readout
  • Available in November 2020 for an SRP of $1,999.95 (body-only) and $2,599.95 (one-lens kit with NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4)
